Job summary

Bupa UK’s The Highgate Care Home in London is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant for night shifts. You will support residents with personal care, meals, mobility and companionship while maintaining dignity and independence in a warm, respectful environment.

You’ll join a committed team delivering high standards of care, following care plans and regulatory requirements with empathy and attention to detail. This full‑time role includes alternate weekend work and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Desirable: care home experience or Health and Social Care qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents with companionship and personal care as needed.
  • Observe and document changes in residents' behaviour per regulations.
  • Support residents' nutrition and hydration according to care plans.
  • Provide social and recreational activities to stimulate residents.
  • Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory requirements.

Salary: £13.30 - £14.30 per hour depending on experience

Permanent contract 44 hours per week (alternate weekends required)

Key Responsibilities
  • Support residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care.
  • Observe and manage residents' behaviour with care and ensure to document and report any changes in accordance with the required legislation.
  • Support residents' nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan.
  • Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both in groups and individually.
  • Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory & legal requirements.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in a care home environment or a Health and Social Care qualification.
