Austal USA in Mobile, AL is seeking a Care and Protection Team Member to perform shipboard care activities and handle protective coverings and maintenance tasks.
You will conduct rounds, follow established procedures, and work with others to protect expensive shipboard equipment and machinery.

Care and Protection (C&P) Team Member for Naval/Commercial Ships under construction at Austal USA. Performs C&P activities including but not limited to making physical rounds of the ship(s), modules, and warehouses. Constructing and/or modifying covers, applying protective coverings, installing pipe / flange covers, etc. Relies on established procedures, instructions and guidelines to perform the functions of the job Team Member may also be required to assist with preventative maintenance of equipment under instruction.
Must be able to read and understand manufacturers’ tech manuals in the event special care of equipment is required. Ability to understand and work independently to complete work orders required. General understanding of basic carpentry and hand tool operation and safety required. Ability to follow the direction given to ensure the safety and protection of expensive equipment and machinery required. An understanding of commonly‑used shipboard concepts, practices, and procedures is desired. Prior Navy, Coast Guard, or Merchant Mariner experience desired. Demonstrated ability to work well with / interface with others.
