Job summary

Chase is seeking a Financial Analyst in FP&A to partner across the firm, delivering financial and strategic analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting for the Cards business.

You will build dashboards, perform variance analysis, develop business cases, and provide insights to senior management on profitability, efficiency, and cost controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a technical field.
  • 3+ years of work experience, preferably in Financial Services or accounting/controller background.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, Databricks and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with data mining/gathering and manipulation of data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Perform annual/continual financial planning activities for Cards, providing business rationale for month-end performance and forecasting.
  • Efficiency reporting, analytics and strategy including location strategy and reporting.
  • Create financial business cases supporting business initiatives.
  • Report on and monitor key metrics, drive data quality initiatives across the product area.
  • Developing and tracking performance metrics, creating presentations, and providing financial analysis to senior management.
  • Perform variance analysis and present commentary to senior managers.
  • Develop, consolidate and present robust financial analysis including annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Serve as liaison between FP&A, lines of business, and support teams to provide reporting and insights.
  • Collaborate with partners across FP&A and business lines to ensure timely and accurate results.
  • Help design new reports and dashboards to deliver financial results to senior management.
  • Enhance controls and streamline processes, introducing automation where possible.

Job description

Financial Analysis is responsible for partnering across the firm to provide financial and strategic analysis, oversight, and coordination of budgeting and forecasting. Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams are responsible for a wide range of activities including financial control, forecasting and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities (e.g. dashboards), and advising the line of business CFOs on how to increase profitability and efficiencies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform annual/continual financial planning activities for Cards, providing business rationale and decisions for all month-end financial performance and forecasting, conducting reviews and analysis on financial performance, consumption/demand planning, budgeting, billing, trends, and exception reports
  • Efficiency reporting, analytics and strategy - including, but not limited to - location strategy, span of control, reporting and analytics
  • Creating financial business cases supporting business initiatives
  • Reporting on and monitoring key metrics, driving data quality initiatives across the product area, and helping define future needs of the product area
  • Developing and tracking performance metrics, creating presentations, and generally providing financial analysis on a variety of topics to senior management
  • Performing variance analysis to understand the key drivers of the results and presenting commentary to senior managers, explaining changes from prior forecasts/budgets
  • Develop, consolidate and present insightful and robust qualitative and quantitative financial analysis including annual budget, quarterly/monthly forecast variances
  • Serve as a liaison between Firm-wide P&A, lines of business, Functional Finance teams and other support teams in order to provide impactful reporting, planning and insightful analyses
  • Collaborate with business partners across P&A, lines of business and the firm to ensure the timely, accurate
  • Helping design new reports and dashboards to efficiently deliver the financial results to senior management
  • Enhancing controls and streamlining processes, introducing automation where possible
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a subject of a technical nature
  • 3+ years of work experience, preferably in Financial Services, and/or accounting/controller background
  • Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, Databricks and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with data mining/gathering and manipulation of data sets
  • Inquisitive, enthusiastic and diligent, and capable of challenging peers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly
  • Ability to create ad hoc reporting for senior management
  • Proven track record for executing on special projects / assignments, often with little lead time or information
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Team player with the ability to be respected as a trusted partner for the Business, Finance, and FP&A Teams
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
