Job description

Job Description: Territory Account Specialist

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in an assigned geography.

Note: Novartis cannot offer relocation support for this role. Please only apply if this location is accessible for you.

The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a sales leader responsible for designing a customized customer experience tailored to each account and healthcare provider (HCP). As the primary point of contact, the TAS engages with clients to identify mutual priorities, address needs through problem-solving, and leverage Novartis resources to improve patient outcomes. The role requires expertise in clinical and account selling, access navigation, omni-channel engagement, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop strategic territory business plans to increase product demand by addressing the needs of key partners and patients.
  2. Encourage clinical discussions to motivate customer advocacy and involve the account team to overcome barriers.
  3. Use market insights, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies to manage business opportunities and challenges.
  4. Conduct planning meetings with stakeholders to resolve complex issues and collaborate across departments.
  5. Analyze market data to understand local business landscape and lead both virtual and in-person customer interactions.
  6. Utilize omni-channel strategies to maximize engagement through various channels, including virtual platforms.
  7. Collaborate with regional colleagues and home-office teams to meet customer needs and support access.
  8. Provide access assistance and work with Patient Specialty Services to address customer requirements efficiently.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or similar sales roles within the last 5 years.
  • Strong collaboration skills, effective communication of clinical details, and a proven high-performance record.
  • Proactive with analytical skills to use data for problem-solving and customer satisfaction, maintaining high ethical standards and compliance.
  • Residence within the territory or within 50 miles of the territory border; ability to travel 60-80% within the territory; valid driver’s license required.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with therapeutic groups, disease states, market access, and product launches.
  • Knowledge of patient services, reimbursement, specialty pharmacy, and medical calling on HCPs for sophisticated products.
Leveling Guidelines

The role level will be based on experience: from Territory Account Associate to Executive Territory Account Specialist, with respective experience requirements.
