General Description:

Under general direction, this advanced-level lead position assists in the routine coordination of clinical and non-clinical duty assignments necessary to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult, pediatric, and high-risk patient populations. The role supports medical staff in diagnosing, caring for, treating, and monitoring patients with simple to complex, often high-risk conditions, defects, or diseases.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain competencies required for a Level II position.
  2. Utilize advanced professional knowledge, skills, and resources to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, urgent care, and outreach clinics.
  3. Serve as shift or team lead to coordinate workflow and operations in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  4. Assist leadership in developing clinical protocols and reviewing image quality to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  5. Mentor and instruct new or less experienced team members as a departmental preceptor.
  6. Audit and verify post-study reviews to ensure completeness, documentation, and technical quality.
  7. Coordinate quality control, safety, and environment of care checks to meet standards.
  8. Lead continuing education, professional development, and research activities.
  9. Prepare and present in-service training related to the assigned service area.
General Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

Associate's degree or higher (Bachelor's preferred). Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program specializing in cardiovascular or radiologic technology, or successful completion of Paramedic training.

Experience:

Preferred: Two years of full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technologist, with at least one year in post-primary specialties.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s):

BLS current upon hire. ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) certification or a current Paramedic license issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Apply principles of cardiovascular and radiologic technology, medical imaging, terminology, patient positioning, and ethics. Ability to work in a team, follow instructions, and report reliably. Sensitive to patient needs, accurate in record-keeping, discreet with confidential information, and able to multitask and remain calm under stress. Good communication skills and a proactive attitude are essential. Demonstrate understanding of anatomy, physiology, and technical procedures related to primary and post-primary specialties. Capable of precepting and independently managing clinical and non-clinical tasks.
