Job summary

Qualifications

  • SC Radiation Quality Standards licensure.
  • Current AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: Monday-Friday. 5-8 hour shifts. Rotating weekends, call & major holidays.

*Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus available for external candidates with 2-year commitment. Must have at least 1 year of CVT experience.


Job Summary/Purpose:

CVT I - Under limited supervision, the Cardiovascular Technologist I assists physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive procedure arena specializing in the care of patients undergoing basic diagnostic catheterization and interventional procedures. This role functions as a resource to staff.


CVT II - Prepares patients, position patients for the procedure, set-up the devices, and connect patients to any necessary diagnosing and monitoring equipment. operate diagnosing systems and carry out any non-medical procedure that may be necessary for the diagnosis.


Minimum Training and Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent. To be eligible for a CVT II, candidate must have at least 1 year of experience as a cardiovascular technologist or similar expertise.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certified as an ARRT, or be certified as an RCIS or RCES with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
