Job summary

Great Falls Clinic Hospital in Montana is seeking a Cath Lab Technician to assist physicians in diagnostic and interventional procedures. You will scrub, manage the sterile field, and monitor hemodynamic data, performing X-ray duties as required.

The ideal candidate has Cath Lab experience or cardiovascular training, BLS certification, and is capable of working under direction from cardiology staff in a busy lab.

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years Cath Lab experience or graduation from cardiovascular program.
• Preferred Cardiovascular Science Exam and Cardiovascular Invasive Registry Exam.
• BLS certification required; RCIS preferred; ACLS recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in diagnostic/interventional procedures; scrub and manage sterile field.
• Monitor and report hemodynamic data during procedures.
• Perform X-ray duties in Cath Lab per policy.
• Receive direction from Cardiologists, Cath Lab Manager, Anesthesia, and R.N. Circulator.

Position Overview

Assists the physician in managing diagnostic and interventional procedures by scrubbing and managing the sterile field, monitoring and reporting hemodynamic data, and performing X‑ray duties according to the standards and policies of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Receives direction from: Cardiologists, Cath Lab Manager, Anesthesia, R.N. Circulator Laboratory.

Education

• 2 years Cath Lab experience or graduate of a cardiovascular program, required.
• Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Science Exam, preferred.
• Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Invasive Registry Exam, preferred.

License / Certifications

• Current BLS Certification, required.
• Current National RCIS Registration, preferred.
• ACLS Certification, recommended.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively.
• Possesses knowledge of the theories, techniques, and practices of Cath Lab procedures and a basic understanding of cardiovascular anatomy.
• Knowledge of fundamental computer terms related to application software and desktop PCs.
• Ability to open, read, and respond to email.
• Ability to manage electronic files.
• Work in a temperature‑controlled environment.
• Potential for contact with chemicals, blood‑borne pathogens, and exposure to infectious disease.
• Able to lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques several times during shift.
