Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist II to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive procedure setting. You will provide radiographic support with a strong grasp of anatomy and physiology.

Under limited supervision, perform diagnostic imaging during interventional procedures, ensuring patient safety and quality imaging. Current AART/RCIS/RCES licenses and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements: Associate's Degree or equivalent, and 1 year of experience as Cardiovascular Technologist I or similar expertise.
• Required Licensure/Certifications: AART, RCIS or RCES with CCI; SC Radiation Quality Standards; AHA BLS or ARC BLS.
• Must be certified/licensed to practice in cardiovascular imaging and radiology.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level with sound understanding of anatomy and physiology.
• Operate in an invasive procedure arena with initiative and minimum supervision.
• Assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.

Job Description

Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology; a high degree of technical competency and with the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimum supervision. Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology.

Required License Certification and Registration: Must be certified as a AART, RCIS OR RCES with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
