Job summary

Mercy is seeking a part-time Cardiovascular Tech for night shifts in St. Louis to perform EKGs, apply and monitor cardiac equipment, and support cardio testing while maintaining clear communication with physicians and patients.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and basic computer skills, with preferred experience in allied health programs and additional language abilities.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Experience: One year of experience or training through allied health program.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain EKG equipment.
• Perform cardiovascular tests and monitor patient responses.
• Identify heart rhythms and communicate results to physicians.
• Explain procedures to patients and coordinate with clinical staff.
• Assist with general office duties as needed.

The Cardiovascular Tech is responsible for performing of EKG's, application and processing of cardiac monitors and general office duties.. Their primary duties include setting up and maintaining EKG equipment, performing cardiovascular tests, identifying heart rhythms , and effectively communicating with physicians and patients.

Position Details

Part-Time, Nights, Every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Licensure

Experience:

Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)

Other

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer knowledge.

Preferred Education

Preferred Licensure:

Preferred Experience

One Year of Experience or previous on-the-job training or training through an Allied Health program.

Preferred Certifications

CCT or CRAT through CCI or CET through American Allied Health.

Preferred Other

Additional languages preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
