Job summary

Akron Children's in Akron, OH seeks a Cardiovascular Technician to support pediatric and adult patients with cardiac testing, histories, and vitals. You will assist across Heart Center locations, set up equipment, manage test data, and help maintain clinical spaces.

The role requires knowledge of pediatric EKGs, familiarity with EPIC EMR, and the ability to work independently or in a team. BLS is required; EKG tech certification is preferred and required after one year of employment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent healthcare experience required.
• BLS certification required; EKG tech cert preferred and required after 1 year.
• 1 year of relevant healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic cardiorespiratory testing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document vital signs, histories, and cardiac tests (EKG, Holter, loop/event monitors, CPET, tilt table, stress tests).
• Prepare, scan, and maintain holter/event monitor kits and databases.
• Clean and restock EKG/exam rooms between patients and end of day.
• Educate patients and families on testing procedures and follow cardiologist orders.
• Perform EKGs and testing for inpatient units as needed.
• Operate and troubleshoot cardiac testing equipment; escalate issues to Biomedical Services as needed.
• Generate and submit test reports and data for physician interpretation.
• Maintain a safe environment per safety and infection control standards.
• Provide administrative support, assist with quality improvement, and track inventory.
• Other duties as assigned.
