How You’ll Contribute
- Operates specialized equipment for diagnostic and vascular tests; performs therapeutic interventions in the Cardiac/Vascular Cath Lab, scrubs at the tableside, and monitors patients as assigned.
- Responsible for patient transport as necessary.
- Prepares equipment and supplies; selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Assists Technicians in performing technical tasks.
- Ensures temperature and environmental monitoring logs are maintained appropriately.
- Keeps current on new drugs.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Graduate of a program in radiologic technology, cardiovascular technology, or RCIS – required.
- Licenses: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and a thorough working knowledge of Cardiac/Vascular Cath Lab practices – required.
- Certification: BLS certification from AHA or ARC – required to be obtained within 90 days of employment if not current.
- Minimum work experience: One year in a cardiovascular lab or similar special procedures – preferred. Must be able to perform all vascular/cardiac procedures involving imaging equipment, including assisting physicians during the catheterization procedure.
