Job summary

Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA is hiring a Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist for the CTOR. Hours: Mon–Fri 6:30am–2:30pm with required call.

The tech prepares the OR, organises instruments, passes instruments and sutures, and maintains sterile technique to support open-heart, vascular and thoracic procedures. NBSTSA certification and Surgical Technologist licensure are required; high attention to detail and teamwork essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• NBSTSA certification and Surgical Technologist licensure required.
• 1 year of cardio or thoracic surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and organize instruments for cardiovascular procedures.
• Pass instruments, sutures, grafts as needed during surgeries.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control throughout operations.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists and nurses.
• Assist with room turnover and participate in pre/postoperative briefings.
