Job summary

Dell Medical School is seeking a board-certified Physician Assistant to support cardiothoracic surgery in collaboration with supervising physicians. The role expands individualized cardiovascular care by diagnosing and treating adult patients, primarily in the operating room.

The successful candidate will have prescriptive authority, at least 1 year of cardiothoracic first assisting experience, and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting while maintaining patient

Qualifications

• Board-certified Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority and cardiothoracic first assisting experience.
• Proficiency in endoscopic and open conduit harvest.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Strong ability to work with physicians and the care team.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the cardiovascular operating room as a room-based PA.
• Obtain patient history, perform assessments, order and interpret diagnostics.
• Provide direct treatment and management via prescriptive authority or referrals.
• Counsel patients and families about health conditions and options.
• Document care per specialty standards and contribute to staff education.
• Other related functions as assigned.
