Job summary

Dell Medical School is seeking a board-certified Physician Assistant to expand cardiovascular care. You will collaborate with supervising physicians to diagnose, treat, and manage adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions in a high-responsibility setting.

The role involves assisting in the cardiovascular operating room, conducting patient assessments, ordering and interpreting studies, and counseling patients and families.

Qualifications

• Board-certified Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority and 1 year cardiothoracic first assisting experience.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Capacity to work with physicians and a multidisciplinary healthcare delivery team.
• Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the cardiovascular operating room as part of the team.
• Obtain patient history and perform assessments; order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies.
• Provide direct treatment and management with prescriptive authority or referral as needed.
• Counsel patients and families about health conditions, treatment options and resources.
• Document care per specialty standards and participate in staff and student education.
• Perform other related functions as assigned.
