The Cardiovascular Program Specialist is involved in the coordination and evaluation process from candidate referral, evaluation, acceptance, procedure and follow‑up for Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) patients, cardiovascular surgery and other CV specialty procedure patients. The incumbent serves as a resource to staff and the multidisciplinary team and community caring for the patient. Demonstrates knowledge and skills in the care of patients with end‑stage disease and will play a role in the holistic evaluation of patients. Skills in the area of critical thinking, interpersonal communication, conflict management, problem solving, autonomy and decision‑making are highly desirable. The CV Program Specialist is also responsible for quality performance improvement of the specific CV program.
