Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Cardiovascular Perfusionist to join our highly collaborative heart team.

You will assist physicians in providing perfusion services during cardiac, vascular, ECMO, and other surgical cases, reporting to the Manager-Perfusion Services. This is a pivotal clinical role where you support life-saving procedures in the operating room, working with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage cardiopulmonary bypass equipment during surgical procedures
• Monitor patient physiology (blood flow, oxygenation, anticoagulation, temperature)
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR teams to optimize outcomes
• Support ECMO and other circulatory support systems as needed
• Participate in patient care planning and intraoperative decision-making
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
• Contribute to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
