Qualifications

• Mastery in handling and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring sterile and ready for use.
• Ability to think and act swiftly in high-pressure situations, making crucial decisions to support the surgical team.
• Understanding of cardiovascular care protocols and procedures to assist in critical operations.
• Ability to remain calm and focused while delivering high-level patient care during surgery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical procedures by selecting supplies, instruments and equipment.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with RN circulator as per hospital policy.
• Assist surgeons during cardiovascular procedures, including open-heart surgeries.
• Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize instruments for reuse.
• Maintain the cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) sterile and ready for use.
