Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a scientifically driven Medical Science Liaison to cover the Northern Cape region (Upington area), SA. The role focuses on cardiovascular diseases, requiring substantial travel (up to 70%) with a hybrid work model for admin tasks.

The successful candidate will engage KOLs, present clinical data, and support medical education while collaborating with medical affairs, clinical development, and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Advanced life sciences degree (PharmD, PhD or MD) required.
• 3–5 years in Medical Affairs or related pharma roles.
• Expertise in cardiovascular diseases and therapies.
• Proven ability to communicate complex science to diverse audiences.
• Experience with KOLs and investigators.
• Travel up to 70% within territory.

Responsibilities

• Engage with KOLs to discuss scientific data, clinical trials, and unmet needs.
• Present complex scientific information clearly and accurately.
• Gather and report insights on clinical practice, trends, and research opportunities.
• Support planning and execution of medical education programs and advisory boards.
• Identify potential investigators and facilitate participation in trials.
• Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from professionals.
• Collaborate with medical affairs, clinical development, and commercial teams.
• Stay current with cardiovascular science and competitor activities.
• Contribute to therapeutic area strategies and scientific exchange plans.
• Ensure activities comply with regulations and policies.
