Qualifications

Job description

About the role:

As an ICD-10 Coding Professional you will be responsible for reviewing/resolving coding denials in the cardiovascular specialty. You will be a valued member of the Cognizant team and work collaboratively with stakeholders and other teams.

In this role, you will:

· Review and resolve denied or rejected medical claims due to coding errors, ensuring accurate coding and billing based on documentation.

· Analyze denial reasons, correct coding errors, and manage appeals, working with various departments to prevent future denials.

· Review documentation to code diagnosis and procedures specific to cardiovascular coding (therapeutic and diagnostic) including office visits.

· Communicate with physicians to obtain or clarify diagnosis and/or procedures via the query process.

· Assign accurate codes utilizing an electronic encoder application in accordance with practice policy and regulatory guidelines.

· Complete reports as requested.

· Maintain a minimum accuracy rate of 98% while meeting internal productivity standards set by the company.

· Maintain productivity expectations set by client.

What you need to have to be considered

  • High school diploma

  • Extensive experience in the cardiovascular professional coding arena. Minimum of 2 years of coding work experience in this specialty.

· Certified CCS (AHIMA) or CPC, COC, CCC, CIRCC (AAPC)

  • E&M coding, procedure code sets as listed below:

o 99211-99215 Est. Office visits

o 99201-99205 New Office visits

o 92920-92998: Therapeutic Cardiovascular Services and Procedures – These covers interventions like stenting, angioplasty, and bypass surgery.

o 93000-93153: Cardiography Procedures – This includes ECGs, stress tests, and Holter monitoring.

o 93303-93356: Echocardiography Procedures – From transthoracic to transesophageal, these codes capture various echo examinations.

o 93451-93598: Cardiac Catheterization Procedures – Covers diagnostic and interventional catheterizations of the heart and vessels.

o 93600-93662: Intracardiac Electrophysiological Procedures/Studies – For mapping and ablating arrhythmias.

  • Basic background with computers with ability to be in multiple systems at the same time.

  • Self-motivated with ability to work autonomously and in a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Interacting with manager/team members on scheduled time off and breaks and new procedures and policies as provided by the client is essential.

  • Well organized and able to handle multiple projects as needed.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Able to be flexible and adaptable to change.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

· Experience with Allscripts and Advantix systems.

Salary and Other Compensation:
