Job summary

Liberty Hospital is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to support the Cardiovascular unit in Liberty, MO. Day shifts available; this part-time role focuses on maintaining smooth patient flow and delivering excellent customer service.

You will assist with procedures, prepare patients for visits, manage records, schedule tests, and coordinate with physicians and nurses. A high school diploma or GED, MA program completion, and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Basic typing and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Accurately schedules tests; obtains films and reports; and prepares laboratory specimens according to policy.
• Assists physicians and/or nurses with special procedures and examinations as defined on competency checklist.
• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate patient care and records history elements.
• Submits prescriptions/refills to outpatient pharmacies.
• Ensures data for completed procedures is recorded in medical records.
• Maintains orderly examination rooms and stocks supplies to par levels.
• Greet patients, register, schedule, pre-certify tests, and process ambulatory charges.
• Performs simple procedures and records vital signs.
• Adheres to department-specific competencies and duties.
