Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking a Cardiovascular/IR Lab Special Procedures Technologist in Oregon. The role performs general, invasive, and interventional procedures at a technical level within the Cardiac Cath Lab, Angio/IR Lab, EP Lab and OR interventional rooms, supporting patient-centered care.

Qualifications include a radiologic technology training, ARRT license, and two years in CV/IR, with BLS/ACLS within 90 days. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience in a cardiovascular or interventional radiology lab.
  • BLS/ACLS certification within 90 days of hire is required.
  • Preferred RCIS, RCES, CEPS/IBHRE or ARRT CI/VI credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general, invasive, and interventional procedures at a technical level in the Cardiac Cath Lab, Angio/IR Lab, EP Lab and related settings.
  • Ensures radiation safety per ALARA and Oregon Health Division guidelines.
  • Maintains equipment, supplies, documentation, and charge capture.

Pay Range: $50.16 - $74.74 + Sign-On Bonus and Relocation (if applicable)

This position is within the OFNHP bargaining unit. Step placement is determined by years of experience.

This position is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus and paid relocation assistance (in-state or out-of-state, amount based on location). Bonuses are available to external candidates only with at least one year of relevant experience who have not been employed by St. Charles Health System within the past year. All bonuses are subject to applicable tax withholdings.

Position eligible for additional $2.00/hour Advanced Education Pay if the candidate holds a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (as determined by leadership).

Position eligible for $1.00/hour Advanced Certification Pay if the candidate holds an approved certification (as determined by leadership).

Shift differentials under the OFNHP are currently as follows:

  • Evening: $2.50/hr.
  • Weekend: $4/hr.
  • Night: Starts at $10/hr.

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

The Cardiovascular/IR Lab covers five service lines including Cardiac Intervention, Radiology Intervention, Neurodiagnostic Intervention, Vascular Intervention, and Electrophysiology. Currently operates out of five (5) rooms five days per week. Includes four person call teams including two techs and two nurses.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Cardiovascular/IR Lab Special Procedure Technologist performs general, invasive, and interventional procedures at a technical level and provides patient focused care as part of the care delivery team in the Cardiac Cath Lab, Angio/IR Lab, EP Lab and OR interventional procedure room and in other related settings as needed. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
  • Provides clinical and emotional support to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Applies standards of radiation safety guidelines outlined by ALARA and Oregon State Health Division.
  • Performs Diagnostic Radiographic procedural examinations in the interventional setting.
  • Provides and monitors equipment and supplies based on patient and procedural needs.
  • Performs Special Procedure, Cardiac Cath Lab, and EP Radiographic examinations.
  • Assists in Record Maintenance and statistics.
  • Perform diagnostic and interventional hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Participates in training and education program as requested.
  • Creates and maintains sterile field and demonstrates aseptic technique in scrub role.
  • Performs sponge, sharps, and instrument counts when appropriate.
  • Performs accurate supply and equipment usage documentation and charge capture.
  • Performs documentation according to SCHS policies and guideline requirements.
  • Assures that equipment is functioning properly, and that appropriate supply inventory is maintained.
  • Subject to providing stand‑by and on‑call coverage as required by the needs of the department.

EDUCATION
  • Required: Graduate of a certified radiologic technology-training program.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in related field.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
  • Required: Current ARRT or equivalent registration. Current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging license. BLS/ACLS Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred: RCIS, RCES, CEPS/IBHRE or ARRT CI/VI credentials.
EXPERIENCE
  • Required : Two (2) years experience in a Cardiovascular or Interventional Radiology lab. Cardiovascular experience. Hospital equipment/systems experience. EMR experience.
