Job summary

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 3 to join the Interventional Radiology team. This full-time role is 40 hours per week, four ten-hour shifts with on-call requirements, with sign-on and relocation bonuses available.

The specialist will provide advanced care for cardiac cath patients, mentor team members, anticipate supply needs, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives while supporting life-sustaining therapies when needed.

Qualifications

• One year of experience at an Inova cath lab or EP lab at a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 level.
• Two years of equivalent experience/training in an interventional cardiac Cath Lab or an Electrophysiology Lab.
• Current RN licensure in Virginia with BLS and ACLS certifications (ACLS if Critical Care certified).

Responsibilities

• Formulates an individual Plan of Care for patients with complex needs to achieve a desired outcome.
• Acts as a clinical resource and mentors healthcare team members while displaying leadership behaviors.
• Identifies own learning needs and pursues self-development activities beyond orientation.
• Anticipates lab supply needs during procedures and supports cost-saving strategies.
• Performs higher-level tasks in the care of cardiac cath patients (e.g. Impella and new technologies).
• Provides complete care of patients with complex needs, including life support or ECMO if required.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Anticipates/maintains lab supply needs during procedures. Supports and suggests departmental cost-saving strategies and provides care in an efficient and cost conscious manner.
• Performs higher-level tasks in the care of cardiac cath patients (e.g. Impella and new technologies).
• Provides complete care of patients with complex needs to achieve desired outcomes including patients on life support systems (e.g. ventilator and ECMO).
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

• Licensure - Registered Nurse Upon Start If the team member doesn't possess one of the above registries, the team member must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification - Basic Life Support from American Heart Association Upon Start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Start; Registered in one of the following: RCIS, RCES, RTRVI, RTRCV, RTRCI, unless a graduate of an accredited school of nursing., CPR; ACLS if Critical Care Certification.
• Experience - One year of experience at an Inova cath lab or EP lab at a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 level. Two years of equivalent experience/training in an interventional cardiac Cath Lab or an Electrophysiology Lab.
• Education - Associate Degree - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
