Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Electrophysiology Invasive Specialist (EP Lab) to join our team. This day-shift, M-F role offers (4) 10-hour shifts, sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance. We are a national healthcare leader with a strong focus on safety, quality, and patient experience.

The role requires BLS/ACLS, RN licensure or equivalent, and interventional lab experience. Preferred candidates may have IR tech experience and cardiovascular technology backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Certification: BLS and ACLS required at start; RN licensure or eligible allied professional; ARRT/RTR registry equivalents or RCIS/RTR CV/ RTR CI depending on background.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic manner within EP lab; tailors care to patient needs and coordinates with team.
• Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments and documents findings in procedure notes.
• Prioritizes care, plans routine transitional health needs, and ensures efficient delivery of care in EP lab.

IR Tech Responsibilities:

• Provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and caring way while incorporating differences into the provision of care. Integrates knowledge, skill and experiences to meet the patient needs.
• Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrate changing data as documented in procedure notes.
• Tailors and prioritizes caring practices to individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (e.g. treatment options).
• Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care while determining immediate priorities and offering solutions for problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certification- Basic Life Support Upon Start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Start; Registered in one of the following: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Radiologic Technologist Vascular Interventional Radiology (RTR VI), Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular (RTR CV) or Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular Interventional (RTR CI) required. Unless at least 5 years of Interventional Radiology Tech experience with active RTR registry, OR a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. If a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program, must also have their Registered Technologist with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) upon hire.
• Licensure - Registered Nurse Upon Start If the team member doesn't possess one of the above registries, the team member must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience - One year of experience in interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab or Interventional Radiology Lab performing Cardio Invasive Specialist duties or equivalent years of experience as a nurse working in a critical care hospital unit.
• Education - Associate Degree Nursing Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and /or Graduate of an accredited, school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
