Job summary

Fmolhs in Lafayette, LA seeks a Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist II to assist physicians in interventional and cardiovascular procedures. You will image patients, adhere to imaging protocols, and provide patient education before and after procedures.

The role includes evaluating competency of staff in the cath lab and electrophysiology, coordinating inventory, mentoring imaging techs, supporting radiation protection, and contributing to departmental education.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in interventional, cardiovascular, and operating room procedures and produce images to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Follow pre-established imaging protocols to ensure safe operation of imaging equipment and adherence to departmental policies.
• Provide pre- and post-education to patients and families as needed.
• Evaluate competency of staff in cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology.
• Coordinate departmental inventory and mentor incoming imaging techs; contribute to radiation protection efforts.
• Assist with departmental education and perform annual survey of lead vests.
• Report to Supervisor or Manager on duties and performance.

Job description

The Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist 2 assists the physician in performing interventional, cardiovascular, and operating room procedures. Produces images to actively assist the attending physician. Uses pre-established imaging protocols and departmental policy to perform safe operation of imaging equipment and all functions of the job. May provide complete pre and post education to patients and family. Able to evaluate competency level of others in cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology, and/or interventional radiology. Increased departmental responsibilities delegated by the clinical supervisor or lead tech including but not limited to: coordinating departmental inventory, mentoring and training incoming imaging tech 1's, aspects of departmental radiation protection, assist with departmental education, perform annual survey of the departmental lead vests. Reports to Supervisor or Manager.
