Job summary

US Heart & Vascular is hiring a Cardiovascular Sonographer for the Houston area. The role involves performing 2-D echo, stress echo, Doppler studies, and vascular testing, with emphasis on patient communication and safety.

Candidate must be credentialed in Adult Echocardiography and Vascular (ARDMS or CCI) and hold a current BLS certification. Monday–Friday schedule, no weekends or call. Johns Hopkins-like benefits may apply in Houston region.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience preferred but not required.
• Credentialed in Adult Echocardiography and Vascular (ARDMS or CCI) is required.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs 2-D Echo, stress echocardiography and Doppler studies.
• Performs vascular testing including carotid doppler and arterial/venous doppler and ABIs.
• Explains procedures to patients and obtains informed consent.
• Keeps licensure/certification active and current.
• Adheres to HIPAA and safeguards patient PHI; ensures confidentiality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs 2-D Echo, stress echocardiography and Doppler studies.
• Perform vascular testing (preferred) including carotid doppler, upper and lower extremities arterial doppler, upper and lower extremities venous doppler, venous Insufficiency ultrasound, abdominal aortic aneurysm screening ultrasound, ABIs.
• Explains procedures to patients and obtains informed consent from patient.
• Ensures all required licensure/certification always remain active/current.
• Provides excellent customer service and the highest quality patient care.
• At all times protects the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) of patients per HIPAA regulations; including does not review his/her own record, or records of employees or co-workers without a “need to know”.
• Actively demonstrates teamwork.
• Follows other policies and procedures such that there are no verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period.
• Always adheres to company safety standards.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.
