Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the Vascular Ultrasound MPLS team in Minneapolis, MN. The role includes 0.7 FTE with day/evening shifts, 28 hours per week, and a schedule that may involve occasional weekend rotation.

Eligible for benefits under the MNA contract, with opportunities to advance in cardiovascular telemetry care. Ideal candidates have at least 1–2 years of RN experience, critical care familiarity, and ACLS or ability to obtain ACLS within 2 months of hire.

Qualifications

• RN with Minnesota licensure or eligibility required.
• Minimum 1–2 years RN experience, preferably in critical care.
• ACLS or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive patient and family assessments with outcomes-based planning.
• Coordinate and supervise care; modify plans as needed.

• Fulfill organizational requirements and assume supplemental roles as needed.

• Current CVDS RN

Tier 2

• Minimum 4 years, within the last 3 years, critical care experience required
• Excellent assessments, technical skills, critical thinking, & nursing judgement required
• Proficient in IV start skills preferred

Tier 3

• Minimum 5 years, within the last 3 years of inpatient telemetry/cardiac unit experience
• Excellent assessments, technical skills, & nursing judgement required

Experience administering moderate sedation preferred

Current BLS at time of hire

Job Description

Nursing is the diagnosis and treatment of human response to actual or potential health problems. This includes establishing an intentional therapeutic relationship between a registered nurse and a patient and family. As a leader and the integrator of care, the professional nurse has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for planning, coordinating and evaluating the patient's care needs.

Specializes in the care of patients who suffer from various conditions of the cardiovascular system.

Principle Responsibilities

• Comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on needs assessment; establishing the plan of care; supervising the progress; and modification of the plan of care as needed.
• Maintains education and competencies to remain proficient to provide high quality patient care practice and skills.
• Incorporates evidence-based nursing practice taking into consideration current statutes, rules and regulations when developing the plan of care.
• Establishes, in the collaboration with the family and patient, realistic and measurable patient expected outcomes based on nursing diagnoses, patients present and potential capabilities, goals, available resources and plan for continuity of care.
• Identifies outcomes that are age appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable.
• Coordinates, collaborates, and delegates appropriately to ensure care is provided in a safe, effective fashion.
• Fulfills all organizational requirements.
• Supplemental roles:
  • Charge Nurse (only when acting in this role).
  • Preceptor (only when acting in this role).
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Vocational degree
• 1-2 years RN experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 0 to 2 years cardiac, telemetry, or critical care RN experience

Licenses/Certifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required if working in state of MN upon hire / WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required if working in the state of WI upon hire
• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
  1. Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
  2. Current ALS certification from the American Red Cross
  3. Allina in-house ACLS training (within 60 days of hire)
