Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks a Full-time Cardiovascular / EP Lab Tech at Kennestone. You will work 4 x 10-hour shifts, 6:15 a.m.

to 5:45 p.m., assisting with cardiovascular cath and EP procedures under Cath Lab leadership. The Cardiovascular Technologist II provides safe, patient-centered care, prepares and educates patients, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with interventional cardiologists.

Qualifications

• Completion of cardiovascular cath and/or EP competencies.
• May function in monitoring, scrubbing, or circulating roles.
• Able to use critical thinking skills.
• Work with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and cardiologists.
• Preps and educates the patient for procedure.
• Demonstrates and understands sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• Must be flexible with hours to meet departmental needs.
• Work scheduled and cath lab On-Call hours.
• Maintains communications and authority lines.
• Introduces self to patient using scripting (AIDET).
• Transports patients as needed.
• Maintains patient privacy and comfort.
• Maintains departmental records and compliance with Joint Commission standards.
• Enters data in cath lab log and verifies accuracy.
• Completes necessary paperwork.
• Enters charges for supplies and procedures.
• Maintains stock levels and licenses.
• Works with cath_EP lab staff as a team.
• Prepares supplies/equipment for procedures.
