Job purpose

As a Cardiovascular Account Specialist, you will introduce Cytokinetics in your dedicated territory and launch its first commercial product, a novel cardiac myosin inhibitor for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). You will work synergistically with internal stakeholders and external customers, developing business relationships with strategic IDNs, Hospitals, cardiology clinics, and specialty pharmacies. Success requires strategic thinking, passion for our values, and a proactive approach to supporting our Mission to help address patients' unmet needs.

Responsibilities

  1. Deliver sales results, work autonomously, and serve as the single point of accountability for the successful launch within your territory.
  2. Develop territory-specific account plans to identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities, coordinating efforts with a local integrated field team.
  3. Be a subject matter expert and resource to customers through delivery of clinically relevant disease and product information, creating demand for the product launch.
  4. Communicate approved resources to HCPs, including marketing materials, payer information, formulary coverage, patient support services, and educational programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 5+ years of biotech/pharma sales experience required
  • Experience as a rep with sole ownership of the territory is highly preferred
  • Experience in cardiology, rare diseases, or specialty products is preferred
  • Specialty product launch experience is preferred
  • Experience with patient service hubs and specialty pharmacy distribution is preferred
  • Knowledge of KOLs and key accounts within the territory is preferred
  • Expertise in evaluating market trends and strategic planning that exceeds sales objectives is required
  • Experience selling to complex accounts and meeting patient needs is required
  • Clinical acumen and a passion for understanding customer and patient needs are required
  • Ability to meet credentialing requirements for access to medical facilities is required
  • Willingness to travel overnight 25%-75% as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required
