Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. Job Purpose:

As a Cardiovascular Account Specialist, you will introduce Cytokinetics in your dedicated territory and launch its first commercial product, a novel cardiac myosin inhibitor for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). You will work synergistically with internal stakeholders and external customers to drive performance, develop business relationships with strategic IDNs, hospitals, cardiology clinics, and specialty pharmacies, and establish yourself as a resource within these care settings. Demonstrating strategic thinking, passion for our core values, and a proactive approach will be essential in supporting the company's mission to address patients' unmet needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver sales results, work autonomously, and be accountable for the successful launch within your territory.
  2. Develop territory-specific account plans to identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities, coordinating efforts with a local integrated field team.
  3. Serve as a subject matter expert, providing clinically relevant disease and product information to create demand for the product launch.
  4. Communicate approved resources to healthcare professionals, including marketing materials, payer information, formulary coverage, patient support services, and educational programs.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree required.
  2. 5+ years of experience in biotech/pharma sales required.
  3. Experience as a representative with sole ownership of the territory is highly preferred.
  4. Cardiology, rare disease, or specialty product experience is preferred.
  5. Specialty product launch experience is preferred.
  6. Experience with patient service hubs and specialty pharmacy distribution is preferred.
  7. Knowledge of KOLs and key accounts within the territory is preferred.
  8. Expertise in evaluating market trends and strategic planning that exceeds sales objectives is required.
  9. Experience selling to complex accounts and meeting patient needs is required.
  10. Clinical acumen and a passion for understanding customer and patient needs are required.
  11. Ability to meet credentialing requirements for access to medical facilities and organizations in the territory is required.
  12. Willingness and ability to travel overnight 25%-75% as needed.
  13. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
