Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the inpatient cardiothoracic transplant care team. You will deliver high-quality, cost-effective care to heart and lung transplant patients, handling preop orders and postoperative care while participating in rounds and multidisciplinary planning.

The role offers 100% FTE with 4‑10 hour shifts, flexible daytime coverage, and potential weekend work.

Qualifications

• Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure.
• Active board certification as NP or PA (as applicable).
• Active DEA license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced inpatient care for cardiothoracic transplant patients.
• Preop orders and postoperative care for heart and lung transplant patients.
• Participation in Heart Failure/Shock team protocols.
• Support surgical elements of the transplant programs.
• Participation in daily rounding and multidisciplinary rounds.
• Clinical management of advanced therapies—Impella, ECMO, LVAD.
• Outpatient participation for work-up and continuity of care.
• Coordinate care from inpatient to outpatient transplant clinic.
