Job summary

Catholic Health is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to support the surgical team across comprehensive patient management, assisting in major and minor procedures, and coordinating pre- and post-operative care. The candidate must hold a NY PA license with NCCPA certification, plus BLS/ACLS/AED certification. DEA license required; new grads with relevant PA electives may be considered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of PA program accredited by ARC-PA; Master’s preferred.
• New York State PA license required; NCCPA certification required.
• BLS/ACLS/AED certification by American Heart Association; DEA license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist as first or second assistant during Cardiothoracic procedures.
• Harvest and prepare saphenous veins for CABG when competent.
• Be on-call to assist surgeons in urgent or emergency cases.
• Prepare patients pre- and post-operatively under surgeon supervision.
• Write admission orders and progress notes; document status and treatments.
