Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI is actively recruiting a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to support our established CTS team.

This role supports the operating room and in-patient CTS unit, with opportunities to collaborate closely with cardiothoracic surgeons as part of a large heart surgery program. You must be a Certified PA with CTS experience, ACLS/BLS, and a Wisconsin PA license.

Qualifications

• Certified Physician Assistant required.
• Surgical First Assist experience a must.
• Minimum of one-year Cardiothoracic Surgery practice experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Wisconsin Physician Assistant License required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the operating room (endoscopic and open vein and radial artery harvesting).
• Patient care on the Cardiothoracic Surgery in-patient unit.
• Night call on weeknights and weekends (approx. 1 in 6).
• Weekend rounds with call from home for the OR.
• Rare outpatient clinic care."
• Hours 7am-5pm, five days a week with rotating weekend hours.
• Opportunity to work independently alongside the cardiothoracic surgeons.
• Hospital privileges at SSM Health St. Marys Madison.
