Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (PA) for the Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA. The role focuses on perioperative and postoperative care, in ICU, telemetry, OR coverage, and on-call duties under a Cardiothoracic Surgeon.

You will perform H&Ps, daily progress notes, discharge summaries, and inpatient/outpatient consults, with emphasis on teamwork in a high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Massachusetts licensure required.
• Current BCLS or ACLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high-acuity environment.
• Experience with postoperative cardiothoracic care and chest tube management recommended.

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examinations, daily progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Inpatient consultations.
• Emergency Room consultations and admissions.
• Plan and coordinate all aspects of postoperative care and post discharge follow-up.
• Participate in coverage of inpatient Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit, Operating Room, and OR on-call schedule rotation.
