Job summary

PALM Health is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery PA-C for a locum-to-perm role in Northwest Georgia, about two hours from Atlanta. The position focuses on OR first assisting with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures and includes postoperative perioperative care.

90% OR, 10% ICU, with weekend rounds and on-call coverage. Requirements include graduation from an accredited PA program, NCCPA certification, GA license, BLS/ACLS, and at least 3 years of CT surgery experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA program; NCCPA certified
• Current or eligible GA PA license
• BLS and ACLS certified
• 3+ years of cardiothoracic/cardiovascular surgery experience required

Responsibilities

• First assist in the OR for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
• Pre-op evaluations, H&Ps, and care plan development with supervising physicians
• Postoperative management across ICU, step-down, and inpatient units
• Evaluate consults and respond to urgent clinical changes
• Perform procedures within scope (chest tubes, central lines, pacing wires, wound care, etc.)
• Support discharge planning, patient education, and documentation
• Participate in call coverage and weekend rounds
