Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for an ongoing locum tenens assignment with night shift coverage in Missouri. The role includes OR first assist duties, perioperative management, clinic coverage, and shared call with a high-acuity cardiac surgery program.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of adult CT surgery first assist experience, active PA or NP certification, and is comfortable in a fast-paced academic environment.

Qualifications

• Board-certified NP or PA with active license or ability to obtain licensure.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of recent adult cardiac surgery first assist experience.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Trauma center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide first assist in cardiothoracic procedures.
• Lead pre-operative and post-operative patient management.
• Conduct surgical consultations and clinic follow-up.
• Perform vein harvesting and procedural support.
• Participate in call rotation; collaborate with cardiac teams.
