Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) for a 13-hour non-surgical shift in the 11-bed CT surgery ICU. You will work with the CT surgeon and non-surgical providers to care for postoperative patients, including ECMO and LVAD support.

Shift rotates day/night every two weeks with two weekends per month. Must be board eligible/certified and hold or be eligible for a PA medical license.

Qualifications

• Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified.
• A Valid Pennsylvania Medical License or ability to obtain one is required.
• Graduate from accredited educational program for Nurse Practitioners.
• ICU experience preferred; experience as an independent clinician required.

Responsibilities

• Non-surgical 13-hour shift coverage for the 11-bed CT surgery ICU (Open Heart Unit).
• Work with the cardiothoracic surgeon and non-surgical providers for medical care of CT surgery patients.
• Manage post cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, ECMO, LVAD, bedside procedures.
• Perform initial evaluation, history, and physical examinations.
• Placement of invasive monitoring lines and participate in education/research initiatives.
• Contribute to service-related databases and educate patients and families.
