Job description

A well-established surgical group is in search of an additional Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join their practice, which currently consists of three board-certified surgeons. The Medical Center has a strong Cardiovascular program and is nationally ranked in the top 10 percent for patient safety in heart attack, interventional coronary, and vascular care. The group has established interventional, non-invasive, and structural heart programs, which will allow the new surgeon to access thoracic, cardiac, and vascular cases. The surgeon will have access to an exceptional referral base with strong primary care and cardiology physician referral sources from 13 counties. ****

Position Overview

• Practice: Established group with 3 board-certified cardiothoracic surgeons.

• Facility: Top 10% nationally for heart-related patient safety.

• Scope: Access to cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases.

• Referrals: Strong network across 13 counties ensures high volume.

Candidate Requirements

• Licensure: Unrestricted Alabama MD/DO license.

• Experience: Must be an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon.

• Certifications: DEA certified; Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery.

• Skills: Comfortable with TAVR procedures and mentoring junior surgeons.

Practice Highlights

• Facilities: 22 ORs, 2 specialized heart suites, daVinci robotics.

• Team: APPs for OR assistance, vein harvesting, and post-op care.

• Call: 1:4 shared schedule.
