Job summary

St. Francis-Emory Healthcare in Columbus, GA, seeks a Physician Assistant or APRN to join its Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This full-time, on-site role collaborates with two surgeons to provide perioperative and postoperative care, including EVH.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, surgical assistance, medication management, family education, and participation in call rotation. Cardiac surgery experience is preferred; EVH proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Active PA or APRN license and board certification.
• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing (APRN).
• Cardiothoracic Surgery experience preferred.
• Endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) proficiency required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to teamwork and patient-centered care.
• Candidates completing a Cardiothoracic Postgraduate Fellowship will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
• Assist in surgical procedures, including endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH).
• Prescribe medications and manage perioperative care.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and recovery.
• Participate in call rotation and provide high-quality, compassionate care.
