Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or CA training with diploma within 90 days, or equivalent Sutter Health training.
• Current BLS Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
• 1 year of recent relevant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical procedures, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and clerical support to providers and patient care teams.
• Perform back-office and patient-related tasks supporting high-quality patient care.
• Help ensure smooth patient and workflow within the department.
• Assist the patient care team in implementing the medical plan of care.
• Educate and interact with patients, families, support groups, and healthcare providers to gain confidence and cooperation.
• Take vital signs, prepare patients for examinations, and administer injections.
• Prioritize assignments and complete multiple tasks within standardized policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
