Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI seeks a part-time Health Unit Coordinator for Cardiothoracic Surgery B4/5 to support daily unit operations, greet patients and families, answer calls, organize files, and manage supplies. You will be essential to keeping workflows smooth in a high-acuity surgical unit.

The role emphasizes accurate electronic health records, coordination with clinicians on admissions, transfers and discharges, and clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Required.
• 1 year of experience in a medical or customer service environment or experience of a similar nature Required.
• 1 year of experience in a medical environment Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and facilitate the day-to-day operations of a unit.
• Answer phones, organize files, order supplies, handle correspondence, manage databases, and provide general support to patients, family members and other staff.
• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges with the clinical team.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and perform clerical duties.
