Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee, Kansas, is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to serve as a First Assist in cardiovascular surgeries. This role includes endoscopic vein harvesting, and hospital rounds pre and post-surgery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification are required.
• 1–2 years of cardiothoracic or cardiovascular surgery experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform as first assist in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgeries.
• Conduct endoscopic vein harvesting.
• Round in hospital pre and post-surgery.
• Manage follow-up clinic visits.
