Job summary

Virtua Health in Egg Harbor Township is seeking a Per Diem Medical Secretary for Cardiopulmonary Rehab. You will provide essential secretarial and administrative support in a hospital/clinic setting, handling patient flow, scheduling, and basic billing tasks.

The role requires familiarity with medical terminology, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication with patients and staff. A High School diploma or GED is required, with an Associate’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers (data entry, word processing, report production) and strong keyboarding skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; interacts with patients and staff.
• Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and medical office procedures; ability to learn department policies quickly.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors; maintains patient flow.
• Screens and handles calls and correspondence; schedules appointments.
• Performs general registration and billing tasks; verifies insurance and referrals.
• Maintains patient records and prepares reports; supports in orientations and meetings.
• Coordinates staff schedules and assists in supervising clerical support on projects.
