Job summary

Insight Health Systems is seeking an Exercise Physiologist in Chicago, IL. This role involves coordinating patient activities in outpatient cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, evaluating and educating patients, and providing expertise in exercise physiology. Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in exercise physiology (Master of Science in Movement Sciences) preferred, clinical exercise physiology required.
• One to three years of cardiac rehabilitation or exercise testing experience is preferred.
• ACSM certification is required, or certification from a similar organization.
• Current CPR is required.
• ACLS certification eligibility required.
• Completed internship in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation required.
• Knowledge of pharmacology and the effects of medications with exercise is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities of patients in outpatient cardiac rehabilitation and pulmonary rehabilitation.
• Perform family/patient education and risk factor identification.
• Report patient’s progress/problems to the appropriate physician.
• Provide expertise in exercise physiology and exercise equipment to patients and staff.
• Assist in continuous quality improvement by completing necessary audits.

Excellent communication skills

Knowledge of emergency equipment use

Familiarity with exercise equipment

Knowledge of basic EKGs and arrhythmia interpretation

Ability to function in a stressful environment

Education

Master’s Degree in exercise physiology
