Job summary

Mission Pet Health is hiring a Cardiology Veterinary Assistant in Wheat Ridge, CO. You will support cardiologists and technicians with exams, diagnostics, and patient care in a fast-paced specialty setting.

The role requires vet assistant experience and a calm, organized approach; cardiology exposure is a plus. Trainees participate in clinical duties, with opportunities for professional development and AVMA-aligned programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (18+).
• Vet assistant experience required; cardiology or specialty environment a plus.
• Calm, efficient approach with ability to handle fast-paced environments.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and travel to secondary locations.

Responsibilities

• Support cardiologists and technicians with patient exams, triage, and procedures, including venipuncture, medication administration, and radiographs.
• Assist with specialized cardiac diagnostics such as ECGs, Holter monitors, and data collection; document findings.
• Prepare patients for diagnostics and procedures, assist with positioning, restraint, and instrument sterilization and maintenance.
• Provide compassionate patient care and maintain a clean, organized facility.
• Discharge patients, review treatment plans and medications, follow-up with clients, and assist with scheduling.
• Maintain medical records, prescriptions, invoices, and support room turnover and supply inventory.
