Job summary

UF Health is seeking an ultrasound technologist to perform diagnostic sonographic examinations using advanced equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical data under the Medical Director's direction.

The role requires ARDMS certification, RVT/RVS licensure, two years of specialized training, and a two-year cardiovascular technologist program. BLS is required; weekend/on-call coverage may be part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• 2 years specialized training required.
• Graduate from a two-year cardiovascular technologist program.
• Completion of formal education and/or training in vascular technology.
• ARDMS certification required at time of hire.
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or RVS (CCI) required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform invasive and noninvasive ultrasound procedures and operate imaging equipment under supervision.
• Participate in weekend schedule coverage and on-call shifts when applicable.
• Follow scanning protocols established by the radiologist.
• Initiate life support measures as appropriate.
• Notify Bio-Med and other service engineers of equipment issues and perform QA/QC.
• Review image quality and forward to PACS; contribute to QA/QC for equipment.
• Contribute to staff orientation, onboarding, training and development.
• Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory training.
• Collect patient history and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Prepare for Joint Commission, ACR, Stericycle inspections; adhere to regulatory requirements.
• All other duties as assigned.
