Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist's High Point Medical Center is seeking a Cardiology Technician to monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment in a 12-hour night shift.

This part-time role (12 hours per week, 7pm–7am) requires a High School Diploma or GED and experience in cardiac surveillance or an approved EKG class. You will respond to alarms and collaborate with the care team to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms and telemetry findings.
• Respond to telemetry alarms and follow arrhythmia management protocols.
• Ensure telemetry equipment is applied, functioning, and clean.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and escalate unresolved problems.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on telemetry monitoring and cardiac diagnostics.
• Precept and support new telemetry technicians as needed.
• Document procedures and prepare required reports.
• Communicate patient concerns and equipment issues to nursing leadership.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to promote patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Adhere to HIPAA, safety practices, and organizational policies.

Pay Range

$19.80 - $29.70

The Cardiology Technician monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment to support safe, high-quality patient care. Ensures proper operation and maintenance of cardiovascular monitoring equipment, responds promptly to alarms, and follows established arrhythmia and telemetry protocols. Collaborates with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to identify and address patient needs and medical emergencies.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED General Studies Required
• Experience in cardiac surveillance in a hospital setting or successful completion of an approved EKG class

• Document procedures, enter test results, and prepare required reports.
• Communicate patient concerns, equipment issues, and variances to nursing leadership.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Adhere to organizational policies, regulatory standards, HIPAA requirements, safety practices, and compliance programs.
