Job summary

Department of Veterans Affairs in Martinsburg, WV seeks a Physician-Section Chief Cardiology to lead the Cardiovascular service within the Specialty Care unit. The role includes oversight of consultations, clinics, and diagnostic testing.

The incumbent guides clinical governance, education, and policy development for the inpatient unit. Applicants must have a medical license, cardiology board certification, and VA qualification experience.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license.
• Residency in an approved core cardiology specialty.
• Board certification in cardiology or eligible for certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cardiology consultations, inpatient/outpatient care, and interpretation of diagnostic tests (echocardiography, treadmill, nuclear studies).
• Ensure optimal patient care through physician performance, documentation, and privileges.
• Lead staff evaluations, education, and policy development within the service.
