Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to support physicians and mid-level providers in a cardiology practice. The RN will perform triage by phone, assist in scheduling, nurse visits, and related activities to ensure optimal patient service.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited RN program and NYS RN licensure. Shifts run 7:00am–6:00pm, onsite at Cayuga Primary Care and Cayuga Women's Health in Ithaca, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited RN program.
• Current NYS licensure as a registered nurse.
• Basic knowledge of Cardiology diseases and treatment.
• Knowledge of medical insurance carriers and how to obtain prior authorization.
• Knowledge and ability to perform manual blood pressure checks.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional nursing care in accordance with NYS Nursing Practice Act.
• Maintains calm, professional demeanor during emergent situations.
• Provides patient education as requested by provider.
• Prepares patient records for visit, including chart prep and nurse notes.
• Participates in scheduled team meetings to discuss clinical roles and processes.
• Works with team to achieve patient-centered care and quality by implementing best practice standards.
• Shifts start at 7:00 AM and end between 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM.
