Job summary

The University of Chicago Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, seeks a Research Project Manager to lead Cardiac electrophysiology research, including large animal models of atrial fibrillation and myocardial infarction. Experience with open-chest procedures and gene therapy is a plus.

You will be the primary organizer for lab experiments, manage collaborations, ensure protocol compliance, maintain ACUC submissions, and help prepare reports and manuscripts.

Qualifications

• Education: College or university degree in related field.
• Work Experience: 2–5 years in a related job discipline.

Responsibilities

• Overall organizer/lead for all lab experiments and lab schedules for the Arora lab.
• Oversee external lab collaborations while managing project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with protocols, safety, staff and animals; lead for ACUC protocols.
• Assist with animal experimentation and large animal cardiovascular research.
• Maintain veterinary and experimental records and communicate health/behavior changes to veterinary team.
• Assist vets with surgeries; clean, sterilize and pack instruments.
• Help with lab maintenance, ordering of supplies, stocking shelves.
