Lake Charles Memorial Health System in Lake Charles, LA seeks a Cardiology/Radiology Specialist to educate patients and staff on radiology issues and to support cath lab procedures. You will report to the Nurse Manager and perform a range of duties focused on quality radiographs, safety, and teamwork.

The role requires graduates in Radiology Technology, a Louisiana radiology license with ARRT registration, BLS-CPR, and ACLS certification, with responsibilities spanning patient care, equipment

Formación

• Graduate of School of Radiology Technology required.
• Current Louisiana Radiology license and ARRT registered required.
• BLS-CPR certified required.
• ACLs certified required.

Responsabilidades

• Effectively identifies and solves problems in reference to radiology equipment, patient care or radiation safety.
• Consistently communicates abnormal variances to Charge nurse, Circulating RN or Nurse Manager.
• Competent in sterile technique for all cath lab procedures
• Demonstrates the following best practices in a consistent and positive manner: Huddles, procedure reporting, Service Excellence principles, and use of sterile technique.
• Follows evidence-based policies and procedures to guide radiology practice.
• Consistently produces quality radiographs.
• Possesses competency in use of technology and computers.
• Demonstrates competency in the use of archive unit, image management, study measurements and quality control.
• Performs assessment of patient in regards to positioning to obtain quality study.
• Consistently participates in the multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Competently performs/assists with all cath lab procedures performed.
• Demonstrates competency in operation of all cath lab equipment.
• Interprets and implements physician orders in reference to positioning and x ray views.
• Competently performs unit specific procedures in the x ray and scrub positions.
• Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in implementation of Unit PI plan.
• Has knowledge of and utilizes unit specific equipment appropriately.
• Follows established hospital/department safety policies.
• Understands and appropriately responds to the unique combination of cultural variables that professionals and individuals bring to interactions.
• Follows hospital/department infection control policies.
• Adheres to hospital/department radiation safety policies including annual Radiation Safety inservice.
